Introduction

I was raised on Count von Count, Bunnicula, and Buffy, the vampire slayer. I was a pre-teen at the height of the Twilight craze and I read Interview with the Vampire when I was sixteen. For as long as I can remember, I've been surrounded by vampires and intrigued by them. With this fascination, however, there came questions. What makes the vampire so great. Where does the myth come from? How has it evolved? Why has it endured for so long? What does that represent? In this website, we will study the vampire through the eyes of a historian and folklorist to answer these questions.
